About Dr Helen Allergy
Hi, I'm Dr Helen and I am responsible for creating the first UK Allergy Help Course for parents and caregivers. I am a GP and allergy specialist and began my life in the allergy world 14 years ago when my son Ethan was born. Suddenly, I was thrown into the world of eczema and food allergies and it caused me to change direction and retrain in allergy because I realised I knew nothing about how to keep him safe. Since then, I have been passionate about providing better care for the allergy community and trying to increase education amongst doctors and nurses.
We will support you for free for one month in our closed Facebook Membership group. This will allow you to ask any questions that arise.
All modules are recorded and available to you for life-long access.

She began working in the NHS as a dietitian in primary care but quickly found her dream job working in paediatrics, where her passion for managing children with food allergy began. Penny first met Dr Helen when they were both studying for their allergy degrees!

She is now also the director of The Children's Dietitian Ltd, running private 1:1 clinics, providing webinars, courses and free resources to help navigate the tricky world of feeding children.
Francesca Sawer, Clinical Psychologist
Francesca is a chartered clinical psychologist, specialising in paediatrics and child development. She has worked in some of the UK’s leading children’s hospitals and currently works at Great Ormond Street Hospital. After working in a children’s allergy service, Francesca developed a keen interest in this area.
Research shows us that children with allergies can experience higher levels of anxiety, lower mood and reduced quality of life than their peers, yet psychological support for allergies is often neglected from children’s treatment plans. Allergy anxiety cannot always be addressed in the same way as other anxieties, as in most cases the worries associated with allergies are very real. However, this does not mean it cannot be supported. Learning ways of recognising anxiety and having practical tools and strategies to manage will go a long way in leading you and your child to a fulfilling life and not one ruled by fear. Francesca will show you how to manage the anxieties associated with allergies and eczema, and help guide you to improve their life.
